Well when he's working on his own, without a huge shop environment, and has very limited access to funds and materials on a constant basis...

Couple that with a divorce, a move, a new child, having to sell off your life's worth of gear and axes.....

    I imagine a couple years.

So he wants to be John Suhr!?!??

Well, this thread spurred me into action. I've had my eye on this for a long long time, and now my credit card is loaded with some debt. I can't afford any more guitars, but look what I'm doing to myself. Ahhhhhhhh!!:

Just bought it. Koa top over basswood, madagascar rosewood board, floyd rose, semi-hollow drop top.

Now I have to figure out which of my current guitars I'm going to sell. GMP V anyone?

He has plenty of friends in the business that are more than willing to help with buying power for materials. Tom's been doing this longer than most so I'm sure he knows what he's up against.

                      Mike,
That was kinda an inside joke between Joe and I. I have the Dinky body he referenced that's been refinished, screwed up, and now has to be re-refinished again. Wasn't my fault either....it was the wacky weather!!

I'm sure Tom will do just fine on his own. He has a lifetime of luthierie and business experience. His future pieces will be extreme works of art!

Kudos to Tom Anderson for choosing his craft over his wallet.
                        Spin the black circle.

See examples in Thorn, Koll, Soloway, Driskill, the list goes on and on.
