Anyone have an Edwards (made in Japan by ESP) les paul? I'm considering the "relic'd" Jimmy Page edition. It looks really nice...coil taps, real SD pickups, long neck tenon, etc. From what I've heard the quality is every bit as good as Gibson (and better in some instances). I'm not really a "relic'd" guitar fan.....but I figure if there are a few scratches/etc. then I won't be too concerned if I put a few on it myself

They are good guitars - I got one a couple weeks ago from mrsung, and can't put it down. Necks are a little thicker than a 60's slim, but not as fat as a 59. Binding is generally well done, inlays are plastic I think, but look no worse than the ones on any Studio or Classic. Gotoh hardware, SD or EMG pickups. The one I have sings pretty good for a $700 guitar. Probably not up to the quality of a full fledged ESP, but IMO better than most of the Korean made LTD's. Your mileage may vary of course. If you can find what you want used and already in the US, then definitely go that route - you can get them pretty cheap.

I've heard the same things about Edwards guitars across the internet... in between LTD and real ESP quality.

My brother Dave has a burst '58 reissue, with the boat neck. It's a really nice guitar, really nice. I was very impressed with the general workmanship, the fretwork, and the overall playability of it. If the price is right I'd likely go for it.

Most of the edwards LP's have Bigger than normal necks, but the Page relic has a slimmer shape, between the 50's and 60's Gibson necks"Now remember, things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean.
