I paid about the same - but in UK£, so approx. twice what jwoods got it for, so that really is a great deal! Nonetheless, all the good comments on this model mean I'm now sitting impatiently by the front door waiting for the postie to knock........(even if it will be a day or to before it arrives).

Man, I really missed out on that one. Hope you enjoy it. The YJM is on my short list of guitars to try out. I have yet to run across one in a shop.

                  She's here!

Feels better than I thought - was loaded with custom 8-46's, now with standard 9's. Some buzzing, but not horrendous. I'm quite liking the scallops, although it's strange not to feel the wood under the strings. I was worried that I was heavy handed & everything would go out of tune as I played - but the string tension is enough to stop that, although I'm still having to think about being slightly more light fingered some of the time. It hasn't had a workout through an amp yet, but initial impressions are good. Jwoods - I'm sure you'll love yours! Now to start learning to sweep........

I have that exact guitar. Absolutely love it. You are right the initial feeling of no wood under the finger tips is a bit weird, once you get used to it is very cool and you will play faster than you thought you could.

Congrats! Amazing Huh! I found that I only need a light touch on the 1st and second frets on the high strings. You will get used to it quickly. On the 13th fret on up on the high E string I have a tendency to pull the string off the frets while bending, but that's because I like pulling the string downwards to bend, instead of upwards Go play the heck out of it!

                      Play Loud!

Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

Nice man, let me know if it's not your cup of tea, I'll take it off ya. I love mine, guitar fucking rules. Try different settings when you fire it up through your rig, more bass, mids and gain really help. Low output pups but they have a nice voice, I play mine cranked through my 100 watt jcm800 and an mt2, kicks ass.

It will sure help you with your touch, you'll find you play your other guitars with more finesse, as you learn to use just the right amount of attack with your left hand

guitarnut - congrats, it looks great! It seems we have similiar taste - I'm GASing for a Gibson V and I used to have a Single Recto -lol.
jcm800x - that rosewood is sweet too. There was a guy selling one like that on the bay who lives in Woodstock also. I forgot to bid on it and would have got it for $899 since no one bid. But it ended up working out since I found this one. But you guys are killin' me with all these pics and talk.

Mine is on the truck as we speak and I'm counting down the minutes until I leave work........

Jcm800 - all that photo needs is a Cadbury's flake, half eaten, laying seductively in the case (do you get those adverts over there? Usually a sultry woman in a bathtub or sitting on a window sill in a country manor staring out into the rain & eating a Flake in a suggestive manner, you get the idea!). Nice axe! Thanx for the tone advice - most (all) of my other guitars have humbuckers, so the bass is lowered a tad.

jwoods - V's are great - they growl through the single recto! Hope the wait for the Malmsteen isn't too long - about 1 hr 20 minutes less if the time is correct on the posts.........
