UPS delivered it yesterday; needless to say yesterday was a long day until I got home from work.
Here is a link to the old thread with some of the seller's pics until I can get my own up. It also has information about the specs of the guitar.
I first impression are pretty good. The duncan designed pickups will definately have to be replaced. This guitar is a bit lighter than my soloist and the neck is a little thinner but overall it is very comfortable. Its not too much of a jump going from this to #1 as far as playability is concerned.
The overall tone is pretty good. Even with duncan designed pickups the guitar sounds pretty good.
My only beef is it seems to be difficult to access the pickup selector in the midst of playing. I do not change pickups very often but it seems to be tucked away between the bridge and the volume knobs.
Overall, for $400 plus shipping this is a great deal. The guitar is very clean, the shipper included a strap and straplocks (not sure which kind of straplocks they are... this is my first experience with them) and was pretty easy to work with. I bought it from a guy over at the sevenstring forum.
I am wrestling with the idea of a refinish after the pickups are replaced.
My wife's gone for the day and I have absolutely nothing to do... Whats a good way to celebrate my birthday???.. I am gonna go play with my new toy.
