Sorry to hear about the damage. Nice newer built Assassin! I'm going to guess the original hardware might have been chrome and he swapped it out to black but the post threads didn't match so he left the chrome posts in. It's likely the original case was a G&G. They're horrible for shipping since there's really no support to keep the body from moving and some sellers neglect to load the case with towels. Good luck with her, that was a great price.

That just made me sick While its repairable (saw an Alveraz which had something similar happen) to where it may play like it did, but the value is sadly shot and its VERY noticable. I would push for my money back, even if he wants to take the guitar back.

Yeah but to change all the hardware, and have it all correct? I don't think so. Come to think of it, I have seen an SL Mock from this period with chrome posts when the hardware was black so it may still be stock.

And I'm with you on the G&G cases. They suck big time. Not to mention the handles are off-set so they don't balance when you hold them.

Hey man, what's happened with your Custom order now that the BCR forums have disappeared?

I have one very similar but it is a neck thru ST3.. same deal.. headstock break. Those are very thin in the scarf area..lower positions of the neck.

If you are going to sell it.. I'm interested!

It looks like it doesn't have a scarf joint. I've not seen one like this before but it is thin there and the fingerboard is very thick. Not sure what the outcome will be but the Postal guy apologized profusely and said if the claim is approved I will get 100% refunded by them and they will deal with the seller afterwards. He was not sure whether I keep the axe, though I doubt it.
Forgot to add, the neck seemed to be banana'd, I'm hope the current fucked up state of things is the cause of this. Truss rod applying weird pressure now or something.

I uploaded some pics here http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n%20bc%20rich/

Hey man, what's happened with your Custom order now that the BCR forums have disappeared?
Swapping the hardware is really no big deal. When the Floyd went on my custom Warlock during recording(you may remember the BCR thread) I decided to go with Black hardware. I picked up a Black Floyd, Grovers and Knobs. However the threads didn't match. Same look as the above. In addition, the three way switch on his may not be original if all the hardware was black or the oposite way around.

Sanctuary, regarding the BCR custom order. I made my deposit last week of 2005 and in September the crap started hitting the fan.

BCR contacted me in September and requested I get my deposit back from Guitar Asylum. BCR would set me up with another dealer. They stated Guitar Asylum was no longer receiving BCR guitars and have been notified regarding their dealer status. I contacted GA and Rob said everything was fine. Since September everything has still been fine.

That same week in Sept., BCR asked me if I was ok with red pin-striping. They were having trouble locating red binding. I agreed. Now it'll come out like Pat's of Cannibal Corpse. So, here we are in September and we're still in the build stage.

Just this week on Dec. 5th, I received an e-mail from BCR that GA is certainly not receiving orders and BCR has been ordered(by Corporate Office I guess) to sell of any guitars that have been sitting around for Guitar Asylum. IE: The people that have orders done and are waiting due to this BCR/GA issue are having their guitars sold off.

BCR can't locate the owners(consumers) unles they contact BCR. I never received paper-work to sign or a work-order number. If I hadn't originally contacted them, they would not know who the guitar was being made for. That's the update. Now I've got to request my deposite back from GA. I'm borderlining screw it and putting it towards a 20th Jem.

Lately I haven't been playing the BCRs since I get aggravated just looking at them. My SL1 and Ibz 20063 are the flavor of the moth right now.

                    Sorry for the thread jack.

Gotcha. You should have seen the looks one some of the repair guys faces when talking about estimates. Some of them looked like they wanted to cry. The dude at Big Boss was particularly upset for some reason.

So sorry to hear that, man. And I know exactly how you feel. It seems this company is intent on pissing people off. And it just leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. I know of people that have sold off their entire collection for this very reason. But I'll keep playing them (just not buying anything "NEW"). Heck, two vintage ones just arrived...so I damn well better.
