I'd have total GAS over this if I didn't already own a 88 black RG 560. Bought it new and slapped an old DiMarzio SD in it. Been my main axe for almost 20 years.
    My gear
    87 Charvel Model 6
    86 Charvel Model 4
    93 Jackson RR EX
    93 Jackson Kelly STD
    88 Ibanez RG560
    99 Schecter Diamond C-7
    Peavey Bandit 112

I will be interested to see these. Yep, those RG's were everywhere in 87-88.

My first real electric guitar that wasn't a Cort or Hondo or other crap was a black with black pickguard & rosewood board RG550...none more black.
I eventually added the green Dimarzio pickups & knobs to look more like a JEM. Good memories.

I believe the colors have been leaked and you're right, one of the colors will be black. The other two are Weathered Black, and Matte Black

That's why they make this stuff called paint.
I may get one and paint it neon pink and green.

hahaha, too much work. by the time i did all that, i could buy a used one and hotrod it.....like i used to do!! if i am dropping cash on a new guitar i don't want to change it. that is why i started buying USA jacksons....they had everything i want right off the shelf.

I'm just making my own 20th aniversary Rg550 I got a carotene orange body, maple neck ,neon yellow pickguard, throwing some emgs in it, just waiting for the damn 3 position pickup selector to arrive from some slooooow Ebay seller.

Although it would be tempting to get a neon green Rg if they make one in that color. I do like the roadflare red as well but its pretty simular to carotene orange so I dont think I would spend another $1k just for it.

Werent these about $600-$700 back in the day. Guess we have to consider inflation but I sure as hell wouldnt buy a plain Rg in black.

I bought one in October of 1987 for $450.00, new, as a present to myself for my 16th birthday. The store I had gotten it in about about three weeks before they received one of the 1st Jems.

I still have that guitar, and use it for the occassional detuned song or two.

Mine is a neon pink (I don't recall ever seeing the roadflare red) with a maple board.

I would like a neon green one, but not for $1000.00

That was the year that RG's took off, so it is kind of cool that Ibanez is doing this.

I remember skipping school back then and riding up to Atlanta Discount Music and they had a friggin huge rack of RG's.

I still prefer the Jackson SL-1 (if I could only have one guitar, the SL-1 would be it), but the RG's are cool for what they are/were.

the neon pink was called roadflare red...they also came in desert sun yellow...white...black...damn i coulda swore there was at least one or two more colors thast first year...carotene orange came a year later...followed by a veritable cornucopia of colors after that...one of my friends has an original road flare red 550 after all these years...d.m.

I have the first RG560 that was ever painted Jewel Blue from the factory... and yea... it's an '87. It became a standard color in 88 or 89 I think.

Notice these will have an "Original" Edge reissue trem. I'm not sure if these have the AANJ or not, though. And, also not sure about the pickups yet.

Does anyone know if they will have the original wizard neck or will they have the wizard 2 neck profile?
