Wow, the DSY and the RFR look so cool, sitting in their color-matched cases. And with the awesomely thin Wizard I neck? Must resist urge to buy more Ibanezes!

It will probably be up to your dealer since they are anniversary models, but should fall somewhere between $899 and $1000.

Look at the pic's from namm, MSRP of $1199, so you are probaly right in the ball park with your figures.

OK quick question, is the road flare more of a orange or red? Different pictures show it a different way, so just curious.

I had two DY 550s back in the day, both of the guitars developed twisted necks. Glad they are bringing these back at a decent price point, I may have to get a used one once one of the guys who buys new flips it at a loss.

These will never be a loss in price, with only 1987 being made from all three color, they will just go up in price.

I have played many old ibanez's, and none of them ever had the twisted neck, weird, do you live in a climate that changes alot?

These new reissues have the 5 peice neck, so they will be alot stronger.

Regarding the price - I'll believe it when I see it. Just because they made a few doesn't mean an instant investment. Maybe eventually, but they will be on the 'bay and used for less than new price after awhile, mark my words.

Live in Tulsa, OK - actually had 5 of 6 old RGs with the one piece neck get twisted on me - none of the ones with the bubinga strip did that, just the old one pieces. Pissed me off enough that I didn't buy an ibanez guitar for nearly a decade, then started getting them again when I literally started tripping over them here at a good price. One of these days I'm going to have an RG fire sale - I have a black RG570, gold RG570, a reddish metal flake/black RG570, a blue RG520QS and a grey RG7620. I have an RG560 from '87 that the neck was ok on, I've always kept it for sentimental reasons.

The prices will probably stay equal to or go up on used pieces on the bay, at first. I'm pretty sure that Ibanez is using this 20th anniv. model as a test. Just watch, if all 1,987 all sell out pretty quickly, I bet we'll see a production 550 or 1550 or something pretty similar (a reissue 570?).

And, not only will these 20th's have the five piece neck, but since they are thinner, Ibanez is putting in two additional titanium reinforcement rods, like they use on the J-Customs.

The titanium should really help with the thin neck stability.

I am also excited to play the AR300/305 "classics". Back in the early 80's the guitar player in my band had one.

Went into SamAsh on behalf of a friend that wanted me to get a 'manager's' price on an S2170. After doing that, looked on the wall, saw an RG550XMMDY (yellow) they just got in, tagged $899. I don't like pickguards, but I like maple fingerboards, and the yellow looked cool, almost flourescent, had the guy get it down for me. Started playing it....made in Japan....great neck....5 piece with prestige wizard shape...made by Team J Craft in japan and part of the Prestige line based on the manual and bag with trem in it and the carton....told the guy to give me 'managers' price....pulled out the credit card and walked out the door with it.

I'm very impressed, out of the box plays much better than my recent DK2MRGF. The color is awesome in person, but doesn't photograph very well.

Only 1987 being built, 1200 for north america, 400 of that in each color...only 399 of DY color left!
