  • I finished my pine body Jazzmaster-ish solid

Well as some of you might remember, I made a body with a jazzmaster shape out of pine which came from the bar of a closed down cafe. I had it lying around for a while and decided to work it out.

This is the way it looked when I last posted about it.

Last week I decided that I had to finish it, I applied a two tone sunburst, glued in a nice vintage tinted neck and opted to not use the already installed vibrato. Instead I installed a toploader hard tail and left the vibrato in for looks and to cover up the gaping hole.

It has a very brash very tele-like sound, a very responsive body with a very light weight. I'm thinking to replace the pickups with Duncan Hotrails or little 59's to get a little more grunt out of it.

I would love to show you guys how it looks but my digital cam has gone belly up.

That just may be my favorite body shape... well other than the female body shape of course.

You should call it the "Knothole Special." I'm curious to see how it turned out when you get your cam sorted.

In terms of woodworking, pine is pretty easy stuff to work with.

Here it is, sorry about the quality mobile phones (and certainly mine) aren't the best camera's around.

Awesome, that's so Brian May of you. I can imagine the tone though...
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Yeah, I really need to use a different kind of Varnish, as you can see from the pictures it already starts to flake and peel.

I agree it seems rather Brain May-ish in terms of the story behind it. Cool guitar!

The original Fender broadcasters were pine.
You should have used an automotive clearcoat.
                            Really? well screw Mark Twain.
