I bought this mega cheap ($130.00) Washburn Lyon Scott Ian model eight months ago. Since then I have also acquired a Gibson Gothic SG2 and several other decent axes. Let me tell you folks, this cheapo keeps up with em all!
The only mods I did were to replace the pickup with an X2N, polish the frets a couple of times and add some conditioner to the fretboard. I've got less than 200 bucks in this axe and it's every bit as playable as my Gibson! The guitar is solid wood-probably several pieces and has a nice maple neck with satin finish and the best rosewood I've ever seen on something so inexpensive.
Amazing. Gentlemen, as an owner of US and import guitars, I'm tellin ya'-the Chinese are comin...and they're turning out quality if this is anywhere near what they're making consistently.
Also found a pic of Scott playing one on stage-with no mods according to him.
