she landed cleaned up & its awesome, one piece flame koa body, one piece brazilian rosewood neck surprise surprise, maple dot & skunk stripe, the pickups are a little messy for now, & it weighs a ton. its sounds great tho, the rosewood neck is great unfinished or oiled nice comfy round profile. im still getting used to the more rounded radious but i got it set up with 11's in Eflat, sounds big. i havnt put it down since its been set up.
any suggestions on singles, i was thinking 2 duncan vintage staggered & a cool rail bridge?

Nice man, you probably own humbucker guitars so I would recommend keeping it single. Dimarzio makes some nice noiseless models that keep the single coil sound, sounds like a great sounding strat because you didn't say 'thin' or 'tinny'. I use the low output hs3 and I crank up the input with my pedals. I also have a virtual vintage solo pro that sounds very good also, yjm's in the neck. If you need high output I would check out the dimarzio virtual vintage solo, keeps the look of singles too. Be careful though, strats are very addicting!Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor. HS3's are high output 23.72k.IMO you got a great deal on a schecter parts guitar. In the eighties they sold parts kits and some of the best guitars you will find.I'd much rather have that than a Fender. The monster tone pickups are demanding some high prices.Very cool guitar and worth every penny.Last edited by straycat; 12-24-2006, 04:38 PM.Really? well screw Mark Twain.

be careful, strats are addicting and multiply themselves over time
That is an interesting strat to say the least, congratulations. To me there isnt anything cooler that the strat body. Pickguards or no pickguards...they still kick ass today
Coolrails are a good choice. They are not overly hot pickups. I owuld however try to keep that vintage feel and use something that looks like a noral pickup...both Duncan and Dimarzio have stacked humbuckers with pole pieces. Some of them are single coil sounding minus the hum but some of them are real humbuckers with humbucker outoutsLast edited by Shawn Lutz; 12-25-2006, 08:55 AM.shawnlutz.com

I say a Duncan Classic Stack in the bridge, and 2 Fender Tex-Mexes in the neck and middle.
Or the Gilmour EMG set.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

FYI, HS-3's are very low output pups. 23.72k is the resistance, the output is a very low 93. For example, a superd twin rail has low resistance(around 15k) but very high output(325).Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor.
