Tonetail ????

Has anyone had any first hand experience with a TONETAIL for a LP??

I know Zakk has a modified tailpiece (like what the ToneTail was made to accomplish).

I haven't tried one, but I have Tone Pros locking tailpiece. I couldn't really tell a tone difference from the stock pot metal one, but it sure makes string changes faster

I don't think there's really any need for one of those.

All you have to do is string up through the tailpiece & over....using the standard tailpiece. That's what Zakk does.

The only difference is that this bridge has a notch for each string to keep that strings from sliding around on the face of the tailpiece.

As long as you are using heavy enough strings (.10's or bigger) its a non-issue.

I did some more reading and you would have to modify the stock tail piece to keep it from breaking strings (where the string comes out of the tail piece and makes the turn up).
