  • About to pull the trigger on a Gretsch gold sparkle jet.

Well I ended up not buying the Dean Caddilac I mentioned a few days ago. And then by chance I found myself in my local music store and the man goes: "Yo dude, you won't believe what we got in."

That guy KNOWS that I'm a huge fan of Brian Setzer AND he knows that I love Les Paul style guitars.

And figuring that I wanted a little more sophiticated guitar in my arsenal I paid a little advance and if luck is on my side I'll be picking it up next week.

that finish almost looks like it would give you a rash or burn after playing. Hows it look in person? Smooth?

It's smooth like a hot babe's skin. You can actually see the metal particles that make it a sparkle finish through the clear coat.

i had a green sparkle jet. it looked and sounded fan tastic. it made my hand cramp to play it though - i hated letting it go.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I think these are finished with somthing similar to Sparkle Drum Wrap. I could be wrong, be I was told that by a gretsch dealer a few years ago....
            And Sparkle jets RULE...

Gretsch makes great guitars, especially hollowbodies. Good score!

                            You gotta make those yourself!
Just like dice valve stem caps.

I'm sure they are available on the aftermarket too, but It' de be cheaper to make your own.

i had an OLD one. they arent for everyone but if you want & like gretsch tone there is no substitute. expect to spend some time tweaking the bridge, tape or gluing down & getting some locking tuners, cause bigsby & burns trems are hell to keep in tune.
