This picture was on the front of today's paper for a story about high-end gifts. Anyways, I've seen this LP at this local shop a number of times and always thought it was fugly. The pickguard and knobs are wood.
Something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If that is the LP that I saw on ebay the other day then I am sure some body with more money than brains will snag it.
They were made in the mid 70's small run . The local owners of a Gibson distributership had #2 & #3 and the bass player from the Who had #1, I think they listed for $3000 ( a standard or LPC were under $1000 at the time) .
Regarding the salesguy in the picture. I've dealt with him a couple of times, he reminds me more of Jack Black's character in School of Rock than Gollum. Talks like him anyways.
