  • Crazy ESP

Met up with Arlen on Saturday and came home with a wild ESP. This is one of only two custom ESP Arlen Roth models ever built styled after his famous National Map guitar from the Hot Licks videos ad. They were presented to him personally by the president of ESP guitars in 1982. Arlen was touring with Seymour Duncan at the time and Seymour wound the pickups himself especially for this guitar and also wired it up. He kept the other one {black} and sold me this one. It weighs in at exactly 7 lbs...AMAZING player, KILLER useful tones with a push/pull tone control. The Daphne Blue has faded alot, but it's in superb condition. I'm ecstatic to own it after first seeing it in Arlen's gear room above his garage nearly a decade ago.

        That's very nice.

It seems that Arlen is selling off a few guitars lately. I saw a couple of his auctions on Ebay. He always has cool guitars.

not so fast, that looks a lot like a Valley Arts headstock with that dip at the end.

I like old ESP stuff though, especially the George Lynch guitars.

                    this one certainly is unique.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
