  • Refinishing my Squier 51, is this a good idea?

I wanted to give my modified 51 a Baby blue color, what do you guys think, should I go for it?

I say yes...I've got one myself that I'm converting to a string-thru. Looks great!

I'd say Orange but either one would be great

That would be nice. They aren't gonna be collectibles, so go for it! Just be sure to take your time, and put on nice thin coats. Sanding the original finish off would be a good idea too. also cover up the neck pocket.

Nah, I won't strip the old finish, I'll wet send the finish making it the undercoat, it saves a lot of time. I'll use a silk finish making it a little more rugged looking and it'll start shining as I play it.
