I was walking by the pawn shop the other day and saw a Dean guitar in the window that I liked the look of, but am not sure of the quality and the price for it. I did not see anything on it stating the model, so I don't know which it is. I would appreciate some help identifying it since I couldn't find it online. It has a strat style body, that is a blueish purple burst color. It has the pointed headstock that resembles the Jackson headstock. I didn't have much time so I didn't get to take a good look at it and forget what type of bridge it had or pickup arangement.

a dean strat with a bluish purple burst colour?? beats the fuck outta me...can u get any pics? camera phone? this would be really interesting to see...it doesn't sound liek arecent model....
as to quality...depends how u define it...some peoopple don't like the far east collection..and a lot say the chinese dimebag models are far too expensive...all i'll say is that i have a 2004 dean v (korean lt ed model) that has a fantastic neck sounds real beefy and heavy and is a joy to play....in fact i'd say it was my fave guitar...if only it came in firecrackle like my charvie...

Sounds Like a Dean Autograph Z. Its a strat body with a kahler copy. The guitar is an import and not realy worth the parts it has on it. Some had painted or phenolic fingerboards (usualy white) with mirrored pickguards and a H/S/S pup config. Pointy Jackson-esque headstock also painted white. Prety much crap. The bridges always twisted and wouldnt play right or set up right after they did.

It's definitely not the ones that are all painted one color. Looks like the 450. But from what I remember seing the Autograph Z sounds pretty much right on. Although it did not have a pickgaurd and I think the fretboard was rosewood or light ebony.
