  • JEM 10th HAS LANDED!!!

Big day for me, guys. The FedEx truck just dropped off a guitar I've been dreaming of owning for many years - an Ibanez JEM 10th!!!

I know most here aren't into Ibanezes, but you guys are like family and I had to share this with y'all - lemme tell ya, for a JEM lover like me, this is the King of the Hill. I can't wait to put it through its paces! I sold 4 guitars in the past 2 weeks to justify this purchase. I could never afford a JEM 10th, but someone put a sustainer in this one and lost the original case and docs, bringing the price down into the stratosphere, so I threw caution (and money) to the wind and bought it (then immediately started selling everything that wasn't bolted down to restore my funds).

I'm at work now, but I'll post pics as soon as I can!

    Happy days are here again!

Congrats! I remember the day that I came home to find my Jem2kDNA had been delivered. That was the best guitar day in my life. I had the wife stay home to receive the shipment.
Hey, now you should sell the rest of your guitars, except for your Jems, and put a deposit on a Jem20!
    Can't wait for pics...

        Thanks, everyone!

Wow Brian, you had a DNA!?!

I have only had one JEM (7VWH) for a couple of years now, which has become my #1 guitar (much to my surprise, as I am a MAJOR Jackson addict). I always wanted a JEM 10th, but couldn't afford one, so I finally gave up and ordered a JEM 77 BRMR, thinking I would get a neck with an ebony board and vine inlay put on it and have that as a substitute for a 10th. I mailed the cashier's check and waited for it to arrive.

THEN . . . while I was waiting, this 10th came up for sale at a half-way decent price, and I was in a dilemma. I had already spent my "guitar money," and couldn't afford it. But I didn't think an opportunity like this would come again. So, I thought, well, what if you had to trade 3 or 4 of your current guitars for it, would you do it? When I realized the answer to that question was YES, I took the plunge and bought the 10th, then immediately started putting guitars up for sale. Now, 4 of my guitars are sold, and the BRMR and 10th are here in their place! It was touch and go for a couple of weeks there, but everything turned out the way I'd hoped, and it's a relief.

P.S. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the 20th. Someone has a 90th on eBay right now for a good price, too, but I think I'm set for awhile!

          Yeah, for about two months!

I loved the DNA but I was so scared to play it and it didn't play any better than the Jem7DBK that I had. So, I sold it and got my money back. I'm normally not worried about putting marks on guitars. But, you should have seen me changing strings on the DNA. I was sweating pretty good.

:ROTF: I know what you mean! I was the same way with a Fender Custom Shop Strat I once had (and that was a fraction of the cost of a DNA). I couldn't stand to take it out of its case, so I finally sold it.

I hope it doesn't turn out that way with this 10th, but it has a few scratches, and the Sustainer, etc., so I'm hoping to play it a lot. We shall see.

Nice pic of the DNA, BTW!

Congrats! Jem 10th anniversaries are awesome. Definitely the top-o-the-heap Jem (or the DNA). I can't believe how much Jems/Universes have gone up the last 3-4 years. Then you could get a mint 10th for $3K, I'm guessing that's the price of a player one now? Seeing as the UV77MCs have gone from $2500 to $4500 in the last 3 years.

                Oh yeah -

It's dark here, so my picture isn't great, but here's a family shot!

I think it sounds great! It has an Evolution in the bridge position, which is my favorite pickup. The sustainer is really cool, too. Lots of fun!

Ive always considered the Jem 10th in my "top 5" of nicest looking guitars.

I like the Bad Horsie, but it looks like it really shows off fingerprints... It's dying to have some of those chrome bobbinned Dimarzio's tossed on there!
