  • Strat Bridge Pickup advice needed...

I'm pretty happy with the tone of my Fender 50s classic. But I'm a little underwhelmed by the bridge pickup. I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what to get as a replacement.

I'm running it through a Marshall 401 combo for "dirty" tones. I'm looking for something in the neighborhood of a David Gilmour lead tone out of it. I know his Black Strat has custom wound Seymour Duncans so at least that's a starting point. But they have so many models I don't know where to begin.

Any and all help would be appreciated....

Dimarzio Chopper if you want to get a good rock/metal tone out of a Strat. I run them in all my Teles and Strats, they are killer.

Red Lace Sensor or an EMG SA set running at 18v.

I have the DG20 system in my other Strat. I was looking for something passive in my 50s Strat.

Meh, take a few minutes and cut yourself an induction plate, (like on a tele), and it just may do the trick.
