I am really curious how it sounds. Would the cedar top have much affect on the tone, good or bad? I have never seen a cedar topped electric guitar. Or acoustic for that matter. To bad it doesn't have a floyd. :ROTF:

I'm not sure what trem that is but it looks similar to the one that is on my Suhr which is a Gotoh.

The $8-14.5k guitars I was referring to are the current NAMM show Jackson guitars. I have the PDF that was sent to the dealers. The cheapest Charvel listed was $5500 and is the black pointy Shannon Strat I referred to earlier.

I've had a cedar topped steel string acoustic - sounded great. Many classical guitars have cedar tops as well. I have no idea what it'd do to an electric guitar though.

Yeah, I was just reading your post about the NAMM guitars, Tim. Those prices are crazy, agreed. Unfortunately, some people will actually pay those huge premiums for a "NAMM guitar". Spec those same guitars out with a dealer as a regular custom shop order, though, and you'd get a much much lower price. I'll take the 12-18 month wait vs. a multi-thousand premium for "right now + bragging rights".

replace the cedar with figured wallnut and make it an archtop and that would be unbelievable. As it is, it's wicked cool.

I placed the order for my guitar back in July. Lee said he hopes to get it out within the next couple weeks. So it's roughly 7 months give or take.

Be prepared to wait (I personally don't care because I know I'm getting a killer guitar)
