  • Building A Fender Stratocaster

I need a little help building a Strat.
What do you think is the best parts you can get
and were could I get them and tell me about your guitar
you built and what parts you used and send pics if you wont.

I've built 2 strats using Warmoth parts.
First had a chambered paduk body and paduk neck w/ebony board 21 fret.

I loaded it with a Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge, a Duckbucker in the middle and a Lil'59 single in the neck. CTS pots and switchcraft 5-way.

Then I scalloped the whole ebony board down to the side position markers....

I kept it awhile because my cat liked it the best-

but it eventually wound up in the house of our very own jgcable....

John, you still have that bad boy?

I was gonna suggest Warmoth as well! Or you could always check ebay for actual Fender parts!

i would suggest buying fender parts of e-bay. then you are actually building a fender!!! warmoth makes great stuff, but if you want a strat the way FENDER intended a strat to feel, sound, look, etc., then buy fender parts. they can be had for a good price. i bought a MIM lefty neck for my fender and only paid 125.00 for it. that included the tuners!!! the bodies, finished, can be had for as little as 150.00.
          GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

          and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

              I built this one:

I just bought parts off ebay one at a time as I saw some deals come and go. Strated with a body first and went from there. Got the neck here on the JCF and just kept buying parts until I had them all. Its a great hobby.

                  Hey,
How did you get a Floyd Rose on it.
Every one I talk to say I can't use a Floyd Rose on it
because it won't fit a Strat.
Then I was talking to some one els and they said that I need
another kind that sits on top or somthing like that
and then some one said that I need a low pro. But I don't really know
what I need what dose any one els think.

I own 2 fender floyd rose strats and they are outstanding instruments.I love the way the necks feel on these guitars.medium Cs although the 9.5 radius does give you much of a low action IMO.the only problenm I have had was the neck on the sunburst maple just up and twisted on me one day dont know why.
