I know absolutely nothing about BCR and was wondering if any one could tell me if this is a good deal or not. I got a line on a Class Ax era Gunslinger for $750 and was wondering how they compare to USA Jackons.

I've heard that Class Ass did in fact make some good guitars. Unfortunately good wouldnt be a word I would use to describe the one I had. You may want to inspect it thoroughly before grabbing it. I had an Eagle, it looked really great, and had great hardware. The secret to its crappyness though was when you looked at the back of the headstock and saw how they built it................

I'm no expert on gunslingers but for that price it better be in mint shape, with a graphic and hard shell case. Can you tell us some more details like the serial #, color/graphic, condition, maple or rosewood fingerboard, reverse headstock, etc? And some pics would be nice too. I'm sure a few others will be stopping in soon to add their thoughts.

This is the one I'm looking at. I don't have any other info on it other than what's on the web site.

Overpriced - and he's had it forever. He bought most of mine years back, and I bought them back (some of them anyway) for double what he paid me. I guess that's his business though, and once they are his, he can do whatever the heck he wants. That's his choice as a businessman. I don't really deal with him much at all anymore, but I don't really buy guitar stuff much anymore either.
Have you talked to Justin about it? It may not even be around anymore. Since he opened his store, his website has been pretty idle. With that said, a "true" Gunslinger will have a reverse headstock. Most of them have maple necks too. I've had a bunch of them. 2 of the guitars I bought back from him had the necks switched out on them, so you can draw your own conclusions there. He is a very honest guy though, and very up front with everything. I doubt that guitar is all original though. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $500 for a ClassAxe 'Slinger, because ALOT of the vibe/mojo of the originals was lost. The necks don't compare to the pre-CA guitars, which I put right up there with SD Charvels & Jacksons.
Good luck.
