My final guitar purchase will be a Carvin DC 127.....modeled as closely as possible to the DC125 guitars used by Doug Marks in his Metal Method videos. These are the greatest guitar lessons on the planet to get started, and I already have them bought in dvd format for my infant children,,,just 2 1/2 and 1 years old.

If you love one-pickup guitars, they'll still make the DC125.

727's rule, no doubt! I have the same two piece mahogany tung oiled neck, it it is just amazing to play. I
s there much lacquer on that maple fretboard, or is it plain maple?

Feels like thre is a thin layer of lacquer on there.
For warranty purposes I don't think they'll send out anything raw (maybe my fret board is tung oiled too?

Hey man, I'm glad you finally got your axe, she looks gorgeous. The guys at SS.ORG must be drooling all over their keyboards. Aren't you bothered about the normal scale length, though? After playing a Hellraiser I just found that 25.5 just isnt enough for 7's and for the moment I have quit playing those as a matter of fact. Can't wait for that Loomis model to come out.

Anyway, congrats again on a hot guitar!

thanks, no the scale length doesn't bother me I have it tuned to e 440 and it's fine. The string tension on this is actually as tight as my hellraiser 7 which surprises the shit out of me. I'm thinking I may even try 9's on this since I don't downtune.
Ya the guys over at SS.org have been pretty cool, that board is how I even found out about Carvin 7's.

Wow, that's simply beautiful! Awesome quilt and a great choice for the colour.

Sorry for the twenty questions, but are the back and neck painted? Any chance of a picture? And did you have a choice? Was the colour "QSS - Umber Stain w/ sunset burst on Quilted Maple"? If you can also tell me what horse is going to win the 4:40 at Doncaster tomorrow, that'd be great!

If you hear a screetching noise, that's me slamming on the brakes. I'm in the process of getting quotes for a seven string semi-custom Jackson Stars, as I wanted a neck-thru 7 string, but not at Jackson's custom shop prices. Carvin never even crossed my mind, but after looking at your guitar and then the prices.... wow. All I can say is that I better stop looking in this section of the forum.

                            Congratulations. That's a beautiful guitar...

Yeah, my '02 SC90 has a thin matte satin finish on its maple board. I thought I read last year that they were just using raw maple boards now. Maybe not.

Apparently it's a Takeuchi TRS licensed Floyd.
