Les Paul is a great guitar for laying down fat chunky rhythm tracks.

My Les Paul crunched with the best of them until my fukkin job sold it out from under me. But yeah LPC's PRS's 750XL. something with a warmer thick sound like mohagony.

Les Paul for sure, but I found that my Lonestar Strat w/hb can hold down rhythm nicely, while having the versatility to switch to harmonizing or lead if need be.

My '04 Vintage Mahogany LP Studio is an awesome rhythm player, especially with the EMG pickups I put in it... 85 bridge and 81 neck, baby!
