  • New Custom Robin Medley

After getting lost at UPS it is finally here. Rio Grand pups. Kahler Steeler Trem. Swamp Ash body, Ebony board, Maple Neck.
Very Hamer Californian vibe - very similar neck shape.
Upper fret access is very good all the way up to the 24th fret.

They threw in the flamed neck just for the hell of it ! I did not order it that way. They called the dealer and said the threw in a suprise - how cool is that?

The pups are Muy Grande in bridge and Tallboy in the neck. I have not had a chance to plug it in yet. They are direct mounted to the body.

Man, that is sweet! Aside from the color, it looks a lot like my Jackson DR-2, and I've been dreaming of getting one in trans green. Maybe I'll have to take a closer look at Robin's offerings.

Man... I have been going back and forward about getting one of those things. The Medley series has always looked so tight. Every once in a while, I come across a used one and end up kicking myself later for not picking it up.

Looks very nice! I remember our PM from last year where you were mentioning going to order this custom from them. Was Robin able to do all that you asked for? What was the build/wait time? How's their custom shop pricing vs. new Jackson CS prices?

MountainDog: Price similar to Jackson but about $300 cheaper. 7 month lead time. They scalloped the 22 - 24th frets for me. They could have even put in a floral pattern up the neck but in a small shop you pay through the nose for that option ($800) so I left it blank. I like blank boards anyways.

Have not had time to plug in yet and going out of town so I won't be plugging in till next week. Nice and comfortable guitar though.
