The carvin may be cheaper and are built well.......but it ugly. RR24 for meTransitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

The Carvin, because it has more than one pickup, and as long as it has the block inlays. I like the Ultra V design (inverted Rhoads) - you could use the longer wing to prop the neck up.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

I love my Ultra V, but mine is an early one - set neck, round horns, Vee headstock and block inlays - so it's not the reverse Rhoads look of the later ones. It has more of the Gibby vibe even though it doesn't have a pickguard and has a short horn on top. I like Carvin necks better than Jacksons too, though I do like Jacksons as well. Different strokes...Ron is the MAN!!!!
