  • I want another Strat

but you need to talk me out of it. At my local pawnshop there is this '95 60's reissue MIM Strat. It's definitely been played. It's been modded and you can see from the frets what style he played. It has barroom written all over it. I played around with it a bit and it just felt grand. Here are the issues. One pot is busted. He installed a mirror guard and the split switch for the hum is broken. But the neck is like butta and it feels great. They are asking $289/w case. I'm want to go down there and offer $225. Don't make me do it.:ROTF: :ROTF:

Don't do it you'll have to fix it. You will blind yourself with that pickguard. It costs more than $150.

Fett- if the neck feels really good - it's worth it. Remember that MIM necks are manufactured in Corona and assembled down Mexicali way.
Hel, Custom Shop relic necks command a huge price.

      DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No there isn't. They didn't make MIM RIs until '98 or '99 IIRC...

Whatever. It has a smoked neck and a tar patina. It's just some poor bastard 's really cool guitar that had to be pawned. He modded it out. I don't even know what the pups are. The hum was a mod. So far, it seems like a "GO".

            Go get it.
If you like the way it feels, do it.

Yeah. I can do all that. But, if I buy this guitar the only thing I will do if fix the knobs. It has such a greasy played feel that I won't do anything to the neck. The frets are very grooved but there is no buzz. It just has Mojo. It will be mine tomorrow. I'll post pics. That is if I can swing it for $225.

worn frets are a deal breaker for me. that is the first thing i check. you just don't know how many mile are left on it before the buzz hits, then it is a money pit.

That's what I wanted to hear. It's just amazing to see where the grooves are. He seemed to be a very intense one trick pony. I am not into paying for a refrett. I would just love to take the pickguard off to see what's there. Stay tuned.

It's a '94 and mine. $225+tax. And a very cool Studiologic Flight Case. I'll get pics up after I fool around with it a bit.

If you like it, go for it. Me, I'd walk away in a heartbeat. I would most likely have to do a refret before I could play it.
