Congrats! Everyone should own, or at least try, a Strat at some point.

You will love it. I have an American Strat and 4 MIM's and they just feel so different and so natural. Charvels and Jacksons feel like they do. But they don't feel like a Strat.
I am a true ass set to this board.

Good. But if I might suggest, never buy the highway 1 strats. They scratch very easily because Fender saved money by not putting a thick enough laquer on the bodies. That is why they are cheaper than the standard.

I agree. I'm in fact in the process a putting together a "mutt" Strat kind of like Kenny Wayne Shepherd's 3-Tone Burst Fender Strat. It's a slow process though but I'm sure it'll be worth it once I'm done putting her all together.

No, really, they have a very bad finish. I scratched mine just while trying to place the guitar on the stand. And once I was changing the height of the pickup and I had a small screwdriver in my mouth, the screwdriver slipped and fell on the guitar and there was a big dent. The nut was slotted so bad that the high E string would always slip off the fretboard. The frets had glue all over the base. I can keep going on and on but it was a bad bad buy!

Maybe so but Strats to me looks better with scratches, dings, and all.

Uh, that finish is a matte satin lacquer. If you play it enough, it will get shiny... or just buff the whole thing out.

i tried a highway one and i like it because it feels like it has a bigger radius than the standards and the MIM, what are they 9.5, the highway felt like a 10 or a 11, esp and gibson 12 is perfect for me
