What's wrong with the Spyders? I think they're fine.

I have no idea what is wrong with them. From my limited knowledge I think those cast a dark shadow over the line. I could be wrong.

I'm thinking about getting one of the new neckthru ones myself (the "V-TYPE" as it is called now)

I've read bad things about those. They look cool but I've read they are not that well made. But then again, all companys have their dogs...

I do like these guitars and can see myself getting more. The Spyder is alright, just a bit more stiff than I like. But it stays in tune when used so I can't really say anything too bad about it...

What is the serial number on pinky there.I had a red series 1 ser#0001800 and a flip flop blue series 1 ser#0001455 both were great guitars. Some had DiMarzios some had Peavey pickups.Had 1 neck thru black and white puzzle graphic and it was a much better playing and sounding guitar but for $200.00 you got a good deal. The neck pockets tend to vary quite a bit so be careful and be sure to examine the neck pocket and get a tight one. They didn't let the wood dry long enough on some and the bodies shrank up some.

Sweet I have owned 2 Destiny`s, one a regular black one and one a custom with the quilt top. Both were sweet with the Spyders and both were 24.75 scale. I only sold them because I neaded the money at the time I wish I still had them!! I believe the Vandy is 24.75 also? Jack.

Serial is 00003823. It's a 1991 according to the webmaster at Peavey. And the color is something Raspberry. Can't remember the whole name to the color...

Raspberry Pearl... Who names these things???

One cool thing, the Pearl must come from the silver base coat under the pink. There is a donk on the back that shows the silver basecoat. So in a way, it's kind of a subtle flip-flop. It can look like a full on Pink or more of a silvery pink. Cool color either way...
