    They are great guitars tho'.
These are made 1 at a time and will be different in some dimensions so get over it.
    I hear that!!!

Honestly, I have NO freakin' clue where those guys are coming from.

So they make threads like this to prove that THEIR Gibson doesn't have any issues. I think they are trying to convince themselves more than the person bringing it up. Seems like that to me...

      Kenny,
Before you go slamming me, your guitars do look nice. I'm glad your haven't had a problem with any QC issues. Keep buying them and I'm sure you'll run into something...
      No problem at all.

      AND...

I had Q/C issues with both of them. Here's my post from the other thread.

The replacement guitar is quite possibly the BEST guitar I've ever had my hands on. My R4 was sent back to Gibson for minor issues and was returned to me in less than two weeks. This guitar is just as good, if not better the my R8.

Is it aggravating and inconvenient??? It sure is!!! Especially when you consider the price tag, but in the end, the build quality, fit, finish, feel and playability are second to NONE!!!

I've also seen some pretty poor examples hanging on guitar store racks as well. What can I say? If it sucks, don't buy it.

Somebody mentioned Fender Q/C issues??? I don't know??? I always grab a few Strats off the wall when I'm at the shop, and I've haven't seen to many bad ones. On the other hand, I'm pretty understanding of how Strats are shipped and I DON'T critique the factory set up, which usually sucks.
The thing is, I'm NOT buyin' and sellin' like a lot of these guys do, so the Q/C issues were only issues until they were straightened out.

A pain in the ass? YES!

      An inconvenience? YES!

Q/C needs to improve? I suppose, but honestly, I really don't give a rat's ass if it does or not. I already own all the Gibsons that I'm ever going to own. Gibson can go out of business tomorrow for all I care.

Gibsons are low quality pieces of junk? I think that everyone needs to decide that for themselves.

I have yet to buy a guitar that I didn't adjust something to my preference. I think if someone is less capable of properly remedying a minor to moderate QC issue, that it's far more of a problem to them than to those that are more hands on with regards to working on their own gear. More importantly...my 03 R4 will be here soon

                  I agree!

I love my R4! It's actually my primary player.

My '03 R8. No problems here either. Unfortunately this is probably gonna be leaving shortly because of financial issues...

Ralph - that is sweet! PM me if you decide to sell it, I may be interested.

Kenny, yours are sweet too. I'm confused about the whole reissue thing though. Can someone explain the difference between these two:

I don't see what the difference is, other than $300. They're both CS, 1958s, and VOS. ??

I don't know, man. I think If I look hard enough I could find some flaws on my LPC. I KNOW there are flaws on my 1981 V. The Explorer may have a little something if you pick it apart. These tiny things mean nothing to me because honestly, they are the best playing guitars I own.

The truth of the matter is this. I have yet to get any other guitar I own set up as nice as those Gibsons. Go ahead and call bullshit, but the same guy set up all my guitars at one point or another.

The closest in action and playability is that orange and black project Jap Kelly. Second is the model 6. Sadly, my favorites, the USA Jacksons, line up behind them. Close...but still behind. Maybe my setup guy is doing something wrong.
