It's also now got a DiMarzio "Petrucci" switch so I've got the inner coils of the humbuckers on in the middle position, plus I can choose to have one or the other inner coil on by itself for single coil mode when rolling back one of the volume controls.

    I also had a DC400 and a 12-string DC120. Carvins rock!!!

Hehe. That wasn't mine. That pic was taken at another board member's house a few years ago... Ken (Wulfganpfuck). That amp actually belonged to another guitar player in one of his old bands, he used to like to keep it off the floor for better sound dispersement. If I recall, there was nothing behind it but the garage wall.

I thought mine would feel like a cheapy since I had to put it together myself, but it's got the fit of a USA quality guitar. Straight out of the box, I oiled it up and then put it together rather quickly (I don't really care about the finish). The guitar required no truss rod adjustment, no intonation adjustment, and no saddle adjustment. I want to tweak these but see no reason to. There's no fret buzz, the action is low, the frets are perfect, the ebony board feels great, the guitar stays in tune (I have the FT6 fixed bridge) rather well (not like a Floyd but still pretty good considering it has a traditional nut), etc. For less than $500.00, it is probably the best bargain on the market. And if you're a painter, you can get the bolt plus kit with a Floyd if you want and create an awesome graphic guitar for about the same price. And from what I understand, all of the options available on their production guitars (such as maple neck, wood choice, fret size, pickup choice, etc.) are available on kits, so I'm surprised their aren't more Carvin super strats out there with custom paint jobs by do-it-your-self-ers.
So... that means I can get a Bolt Plus kit that comes with all my "custom" specs? Awesome, sounds like I'll be getting a Bolt Plus kit soon

In your experience, what's the best way to contact them? Do they respond to email fast?

I have a fully loaded DC135, and while I still prefer a Soloist anyday, you cant argue against the value of their guitars. Even with every conceivable option it still clocks in at less than a standard Jackson..........

I have owned a few Carvins in the past and were always a good bang for the buck!! I don`t care for their pickups, except their new C22B bridge pickup. Their prices have been rising of late and starting to go above the breat bang for the buck range, but still decent. Jack.

Carvin will be my next custom shop purchase. All the BS, $, and wait time that goes along with Jackson, Charvel, FENDER CONGLOMERATE has really turned me off. Man, all I want is a quality guitar that looks good, plays well, and doesn’t cost more than a car. Fuck, I miss the good ole days. Isn’t funny we can still buy quality USA made Beer. Yuengling rocks!!!!!

                            Carvin's customer service is ace!
I mailed them concerning a lost trussrod tool and they sent me one free of charge.

+1 I had a question regarding the lock nut that they put on my new DC727C 7 string and I got a person on the phone right away and they sent me another lock nut for no charge and it arrived 2 days later.
ya that's what I'm talking about.

I just picked up a Carvin Bolt+ in Seafoam Green with a beautiful Flame Maple neck! Awesome guitars!!! I`ve had a couple in the past and i knew it was only a matter of time till i got one again. The necks and fretwork on Carvin guitars are some of the best i`ve ever seen at any price point!!!! Pics coming soon!!
