Here's a new Les Paul I want, but I'm afraid of what the price tag will be.

I'm sure it's less than $20K...go for it!

Gibson is definitely going through some changes that do nothing to benefit the customer. I was just talking to a dealer friend yesterday...he said that last year Gibson required an annual purchase of $80K, which he was able to do. This year they want $80K in the first 90 days (almost over) and additionally have stopped financing/floor planning Custom Shop and Historic instruments (they must be paid in 30 days). All of this shows that they are trying to cut out the smaller dealers. Eventually Guitar Center will be the only place to go for a Gibson.

Warren Haynes has one of the best tone ever.

hmm... it looks nice.... and has a '58 neck profile... awsome

Haynes talked about this being in the planning for ages, and the funny thing is that in the end it's not really made to all his specs on his guitar, which is a stock R8 modded.

I think Gibson wanted to do something different since they need diversity in the line.

Cool... That was a nice promo video from Warren. He's just an AWESOME person and one of my favorite players.

That's not what I expected. He always played that LP with the real flamey top in the dark tobacco burst...I was hoping for that.

Yeah, I was expecting something really flamey, too, but that plain top is pretty nice as well.

That's exactly what I would do. In fact, that's what I did.

All you need to go along with that guitar is an SLO100 with the Haynes mod.

the built-in CAE buffer is pretty cool too

I just think its funny how many "signature" model Les Pauls there are. Dayum! I can't keep them all straight. The only one that looks significantly different from the rest to me is the Zakk Wylde model. Otherwise, I think Les got it right decades ago
This is not meant as a slam against Gibson or the artists themselves, I own two Les Pauls myself. Just that all I see is a classic looking Les Paul no matter what they call it and who endorses it.

Yeah, plus one! It seems a "Signature version on top of a Signature version" does not work. Nice try on the part of Gibson though.
