  • Ed Roman guitar shop in Vegas

I'm heading to Vegas Friday morning, I thought about trying to check out Ed Romans store out there. I know he has some negative qualities people like to point out, but would it be worth while checking out the store or should I just avoid it?
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Run!!! Stay Away From The Retarded Leprechaun!!!

The guy is a first class dick. If you're lucky, he MAY let you touch a guitar.

      Hey,
I never had a problem with the guy. I also would never buy anything from him. I must say one thing. I went to his shop a few years ago and it was the best shop/store I have ever been in. Just one amazing guitar after another.

Eh ... I would stop in if you have the time. I never had any issues with him and like parntz I would not buy anything from him.

I like stopping in from time to time to drool over some the items he has there.

Next time you go, take a close look at any one of the guitars on the wall.
Ya know... the "good ones". They're covered in dust.
They have dust on them because they've been there for a while.
I was curious the last time I was in Vegas and "popped in" for a look.
Rude was an understatement and I wasn't allowed to touch anything that was on a wall.

Maybe he made enough money that day and didn't want to sell anymore guitars.

Or he thought I was a dick...

Just realise that most of the guitars you're looking at are of dubious origins...

              Meh...

The web is as close as I'll get to that place.

lol ... true ... most of the good ones are covered in dust. Probably because of the outrageous prices he is trying to get for them. The place is more of a museum than a store.

Ed Roman. The only (other) person I ever met that has a dictatorial opinion on everything. Wgatever he has is the best, whatever he doesn't sucks and anything he can make over 40% on is the greatest. The last run in I had with the guy he was cutting his own bird inlays into "non-birded" PRS guitars. That or hacking the heels off of LP's.."sure, it will be juuuuust fine...trust me I'm Ed Roman!" If he was in the banking business he would be prinitng his own money. Now that I think of it, if he asks you if you have change to break a fifty dollar bill, don't do it.

I would pop in just to set him off on a crazy rant and then watch the fireworks. He's a nut job allright, but he does usually have a healthy stock of unusual guitars.

make sure to go visit, but be sure to bring frozen shrimp with you so that you can dump them in the air ducts.

I went in to Roman's once and will never go back. talk about an unfriendly store and an uncomfortable setting. every single guitar in the place has a "PLEASE ASK FOR ASSISTANCE" sign on it. I was there maybe 15 mins and I didn't even feel like asking for any assistance.

Cowtown Guitars on Maryland Ave is also a nice guitar museum, but mainly cause it's a lot of vintage stuff (and normal everyday stuff) that he has really silly high prices on.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

lots of cool guitars. if he's busy and there's a lot going on he may be a bit short with you. if it's slow and he's hanging out, he's a trip to talk to.
