  • Schecter Custom Shop?

    Hey guys,

First off, hi again to a lot of ya. I drift in and out every few months now it seems. I'm trying again for a custom guitar and would like some opinions. I did see your list on different companies, pros and cons which were cool, but I don't recall seeing Schecter on that list. I had a quote for a custom Jackson last year and it ended up being more than I was willing to pay (and I don't dare submit that quote again at the current pricing/regular soloist with green snakeskin) Anyway, I've been playing my Ibanez 7 Prestige for almost a year now and I really like it, so I was looking at the Schecter Jeff Loomis model, but I'd like to change a few things, but I have no idea how their pricing or quality is. Has anyone had experience with em in any way, shape or form? I'd ask a dealer, but I don't want to bother them with something that will take me a month to get started on (good refund this year ) Any comments or suggestions on other good custom shops would be appreciated too, thanks!

Or hell, actually I can live with everything on the Loomis import, it's got some solid specs, does anyone have experience with their import line? Thanks

A friend of mine has a California Custom, what a great guitar!! They are probably one of the better bang-for-the-buck custom deals out there.

I have a c1+ that I think is great. I did switch out the pickups but the duncan designed ones were good too. Nice workmanship

I have a C-1 Classic. Great feel, tone, and playability.

Would not hesitate to buy another Schecter import when I have the money.

Schecter Custom Shop models are great.
I ordered couple of them back in early-mid 90's. at L.A. shop.
I believe the same Japanese builders are building them in L.A. as I saw their names in the latest catalog.

              Irfaan,
Welcome back. Good suggestion. Possibly Jacksonite (JCF dealer) could shed some light on "how" and "what" can be ordered on a Schecter custom.

And if you wanna go a different route,i suggest you look into Carvin guitars! Their quality is amazing and you cannot beat their price for a custom made guitar!!
Since 1946 Carvin has been designing professional audio systems, guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers and wireless systems. Kiesel Family owned and operated.

I had a Schecter 007 Elite, loved it. The neck was fatter than my old Ibanez RG7620. I hear Carvin 7 necks are somewhere in between the Schecter and Ibanez. I was in a 7-string phase for a little bit and just stopped playing them all that much. I may get one again eventually, though. :ROTF:

Bought a Schecter Hellraiser 7 a little while ago. The thing crushes but, it takes some time to get use to. Also, dont like the knob placement.

I'd be interested to hear something about the Loomis guitar too. I've not seen anything about it since it was announced.

The Schecter imports have thicker necks but they look, play and sound great
