I've been looking for a BC Rich Gunslinger for a while now. This one pops up on eBay and I win it:

A cool graphic and in really good condition. Well, the guitar arrived a few days ago. So, I'm taking it apart tonight to clean it up. I pull out the pickup, 'cause I'm curious as to what it is. Well, there are no markings on the back of the pup. No problem, I like it so it will probably stay. But, what do I see written in the pickup cavity? Yes, the 4 beautiful letters: NAMM Did I just score a NAMM piece? The serial number is BC14417. Yes, I will post pics after I get it all cleaned up and reassembled.

I found a link that will help me date it. It looks to be a 1989 model:

Also, the seller included his original purchase receipt. He bought it on 10/14/1989 from Eastcoast Music Mall in Newington, CT.

I like that a lot. looks like the one Steve Stevens used to play, just different graphic.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Great score! I was watching that one & was considering going for it....but I kind of forgot about it. I thought it ended for a pretty good price. Gunslingers are great guitars....and that's a great graphic.

I've been getting into the BCR's from that era quite a bit lately. In the past 6 months I picked up a Gunslinger, two rare BCR Les Paul shaped guitars, an ST III (might sell it though) and I have another Gunslinger on the way with a winter camo warbird graphic. Plus I'm still in the process of restoring one of Tracii Guns' Gunslinger prototypes. Great guitars.

Its hard to date them from the serial number....you really have to look at all the other details of the guitar. Its nice that you have the original receipt to help date it by.

I can't wait to see better pics of it. Congrats!

The pickup is most likely a stock pickup that is made by Schaller as far as I can remember. They sound ok. Not hot enough for me. Great score!

Excellent score. Next best thing to a SD Charvel and usually a heck of alot less coin. Enjoy.

Schaller pickups have a pebbely finish on the bobbins.I had one that was covered.Very smooth and very 80s pickup

Very nice kimono graphic; if you saw how the fabric is displayed in the shops here, it is aligned as such.
