Any of you guys have one of these? Its a 1997 Collectors Edition Strat. Its supposed to be based off of a 62.
I just picked this up from Pencilsketch. Its just about flawless and I believe that 1997 is the first year for the Collectors Edition. Pretty cool guitar. Nitro finish, vintage tint, medium jumbo's, Texas Specials, gold hardware. Its serial numbered 1057 of 1997.
I guess they made 1997 of them total.
I have owned a few SRV strats and this one feels and sounds VERY similar.
If I was a single coil blues playing strat guy who was into high end collectible Fender Stratocasters I would really be digging this guitar.
Since I am a double locking Floyd Rose playing 24 fret needing humbucker must haver... this totally kick ass guitar really isn't doing it for me.
With that said... its an extremely nice strat and I guess its pretty collectible too.
And another thing.... Texas Specials kick ass. All 5 positions sound great and are totally useable.
