People at the Ibanez Forum are always bashing Schecters. I don't know why. I love the hell out of these guitars! Beautiful guitar, by the way. I love Jeff Loomis. I was planning on getting an Avenger, but I'll have to wait until I get my hands on a Jackson.

they bash on them because they play better than most Ibanez's that are 2x the price. Seriousley though I had a 7 string vai ibanez, the black one with the pyramid on it. Cool ass guitar and very expencive, played and sounded like complete garbage.

Remember... it takes time to get use to the 7. Give it some time and just don't give up as soon as you pick it up.

        Insert annoying equipment list here....

I ain't no quitter. It has GORGEOUS specs. Maple board - my favourite. OFR - my favourite. Mahogany - my favourite. EMG's - love them. Slightly elongated scale - metal?. 7-string - the more the merrier.

It's like they took the specs from my mind when I was sleeping

Ah crap. Ash body+maple fingerboard? Ain't it bright as hell?

I would imagine it would be. It's pretty much a strat with a floyd and EMG's. But the brightness could be a good thing when it comes to the low B, keeps it from being mud with the EMGs. I'm probably picking one up in 2 weeks, it's also everything I wanted in a guitar. If I like it as much as I hope I might even do a custom with Schecter, but that's still up in the air

That's why I will never buy another Ibanez, unless they open a CS. Mine now is OK, but it's only 2 years old. I want to sell it, but it was a gift so I can't. I'm going to work for my grandparents (the one's who gave me the Ibanez) this summer. They're paying me about $400, so I plan on using that as motivation to save for a new Jackson or ESP. Most likely a Rhoads of some sort, with EMG 81's.

the official specs say that it has the exact same profile as the C7 hellraiser, and that makes perfect sense since thats what jeff loomis used before he got his signature model (which has the cosmetics based on his warmoth strat FYI).

How different is the neck compared to the 007 Elite? I had one of those for awhile (the H/S version), really liked it. Jeff also played the 007 Elite H/H for awhile.

I have no idea to be honest, though I imagine it must be very similar. If I liked the hellraiser a lot I wouldn't hesitate to blindly buy an 007 elite, I would think that the inverse applies also, if that says anything...

Yeah, makes sense they'd probably be similar.

                              Thoraby :
Yes, the body is ash and has a 3 piece maple neck w/maple board!
It does sound a little bright, but it is good that it sounds bright because if it didn't then I think everything would sound muddier when played on the B string. The guitar has a nice crunch to it and every chord and note sounds crisp and clear in the lower registers. It is pretty loud/bright though when played unplug or at low low bedroom volumes.

                              Toejam:
After comparing necks with Nate's Hellraiser.... I would agree with his assessment of it virtually being the same, but the Loomis having just a bit more C shape to it which makes it feel a tiny bit bigger. Plus the satin finish is really smooth and feels/looks killer

                              Kelly User:
Hey Eric! Thanks for your contribution bro I couldn't have done it without you Hope you are enjoying that DK2M bro Oh yeah, I wanted to say that if you tightened the truss rod all the way on it to try and get the action lower......... I would advise backing it off a lot so you don't cause any damage to the neck down the road by having it back bow on ya!

Anyway, I am totally in love with this guitar and I'll take better pics and write a more in depth review of everything later on for everyone.
