  • Dean Icon Special Select on the way

I got this one on the bay....they were discontinued in 2003. It was Dean's answer to the PRS. I have read nothing but good things about these and they are hard to find. I look forward to seeing what the fuss is all about. String through, set neck, mahogany, coil splitters......

Looks alot like a PRS, but I'd rather have the PRS.
    My Main Rig:
    '87 Charvel Model 4A
    Peavey KB100 amp
    Ibanez SM7 Smashbox

    Others:
    '92 Gibson Les Paul Custom
    '05 Ibanez RG320FM
    '86 Ovation Pinnacle
    '98 Synsonics Custom Strat
    '89 Kramer 700ST Bass

I have played those and they are a fine instrument you will be pleased.
I just landed a 2006 Dean white gold V and am very impressed with the workmanship, top notch all the way around.Feels as good as the old 81 Dean V I had.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Sure...that would be nice. But did I tell you what I paid for this one?

About 300 probably, good guitars those, but not a PRS. Better bang for your buck probably.

I thought Special Selects had abalone body binding? Isn't that just a Icon Special (Or Icon Select, whichever).

wish I knew the answer to that question. There is very little info on these guitars....even over at the Dean Forum.
