  • Hondo Dragon?

Fetts Hondo thread got me thinking about my first "real" guitar. Anyone remember a Hondo model that was made to look like a Jackson? It had a white body with 1 humbucker. 21 fret maple board with a Jackson-type headstock. Kahler trem. Dragon graffic. The red dragon was on the back holding a blue crystal ball with a ray coming out shooting the pickup? Sound familar to anyone? If so, do you remember what they were called? I'd love to find another. And by chance if anyone has a pic of one, that would be sweet. Thanks...

Weren't the graphic ones by Phantom, Formula One or Fame (all different brands of Hondo)? They also did the Japanese graphix. Back then I would never consider it if it had 21 frets.

Mine had a Hondo logo. Seemed like there was a big H on it with Hondo under it...

Back then I just wanted something with a trem. I figured if I needed to go higher than I could bend on the 21st, I could always just pull up...

I saw one back in the 80's at a store in Johnstown PA.I was really young and thought it was so cool.I used to have a pic I clipped out of guitar mag back then.I will try to find it, but I believe it was thrown away.My first guitar ever was a Hondo LP Special copy.Actually a nice guitar.

            Boomdoggy,
Sounds like that's the one. Hondo DX100. Seems like from that they were kinda rare. I'm gonna have to keep my eyes open. Would love to see one on the 'bay...
