Actually Newc, that's a floor, not plywood either, but definately worn out,...and the body was one solid piece of KILLER mahogany.

Right you are. Also, be prepared to deal with a lot
of Bondo having been used on solid color bodies.
You may have quite a bit of extra sanding to get
things evened out. Builders will often take wood
with serious flaws and fill in any voids and then paint
it a solid color. So be careful what you wish for...

I've done it with a heat gun, be careful though! Too close and burn the wood, if you get it just right it will take off everything with one scoop of the puddy knife behind the heat gun. Too little heat will cook it into the wood more, chemicals would be the safest.

good ol' 50 grit will do the trick.

The onley thing I got for a heat gun is a hair dryer and I don't think that will work I'm just going to stick with the paint remover I hope it takes it all off. It's kinda slow it's taking a long time to get it all off
dose any one know on how long it should take?
it's been on there for a while and it's just taking it off the edge and that's it so if any one knows any thing about it please tell me.....

              Thanks for every one's help.
