  • This just in: ESP LTD Will Adler WA-600

Of all the guitars in the afordable price range I saw at NAMM, the ESP LTD WA-600 Will Adler model caught my eye as the one to get (if only the RR24 had 2 hums!). The NAMM LTD version had rosewood fingerboard, and it stated rosewood in the original catalog, but the new catalog and website info state ebony...and that's exactly what the production ones have

USA Duncans (JB & 59), thicker body than the EC models, cool camo paint, cool inlays, bone nut, mahogany body, 3-piece maple neck with ebony fingerboard, Schaller's version of Sperzel tuners, weight about like an LP (around 8.5 lbs). Width at nut 1.784", (width of outside big E to outside little E is 1.438"), width at 12th fret is 2.093". Thickness at 3rd fret is .800", width at 12th fret is .860". Strung with 10 gage strings.

    That's a crappy-lookin' piece of ebony there

I was waiting for that comment...didn't take long, thanks Ron!

There is a slight gloss coat on the fingerboard which makes it look worse on lower res pics (and makes it look like it has some grain, which it really doesn't). It looks much better in person, nice and 'tight & smooth'. Naturally it's not as good as USA Jackson ebony, but is the best ebony I've seen come out of Korea. Definitely better than rosewood.

Who the hell is Will Adler?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Heard of Lamb of God? He's in that band along with Mark Morton (the new Jackson signature guitar)

It annoys me how ESP only ever repaint/reinlay their new signature guitars... Ah well! Still a pretty nice axe

Too bad Jackson didn't scoop him up too, then we'd have a Jackson LP to score!

Eh, it's okay. Better than I expected. Way better than Jackson's crappy camo, too! They originally spec'd it out as having two '59s, but I guess they gave the bridge a JB, huh?
The only new ESP/LTD that's really caught my eye is the Page Hamilton signature model. The Gus G. Star isn't bad either.

Anybody knows how high does an custom made ESP go for? Like, think "normal" specs. Nothing fancy.

Wow that's really cool, I'd like to see more Jacksons with ebony fretboard with no inlays

I don't like the Will Adler model at all. Looks are not what I'd normally go for. That Page Hamilton model though. Thats really a sweet looking, classy axe!!!
