A beautiful example of craftsmanship at its finest. It's simply stunning.

You deserve it, bro. Glad you treated yourself.

    Oh...and enjoy civilian life!

That finish is making my stomach groan like it hasn't been fed in a week.

Yeah, it would have been much cheaper if I had gone with something simpler but I decided to go out on this one. If I ever get another McNaught it will not be as elaborate.

The finish was actually one of the hardest decisions for me. I spent hours online trying to find something I liked. In the end Dave told is version of Jackson's Solar yellow (I think he calls it Old Yellow) and added more gold to make it not so bright a yellow.

I usually am not a big fan of the burst finishes. In my opinion most painters do not do a very good job of fading from the primary color to the outer color. I relayed this concern onto Dave and after seeing plenty of examples of his work I decided it was worth the risk. I have to admit that I am pleased at the way it came out.

Awesome woods on that one! That finish on the top really brings out the action in the maple.

Congrats and you deserve it after 22 years in the service of our country.

That damn guitar is to gorgeous to play.....literally.
I'd be afraid to scratch it.
The back is almost as nice as the front!!!
                  Love the back covers too.
I have one suggestion, change the pickup rings to gold and then just hang it on the wall.......or play the shit out of it , one or the other!

McNaughts always seem to have the coolest tops, and yours is way above even their exceptional standard. Congrats on the guitar and the retirement!
