Actually it was a solid black SG and one with a good story to boot. Tony (Subvamp) had ordered it from GMP and had spent a lot of time haggling with them about details they didn't want to do. After a long order process they finally began working on it and had basically finished it other than electronics when they went under. Tony tried to buy it but it was told yes his guitar was essentially finished but no he wouldn't be able to purchase it from them. I picked it up from a third party shortly thereafter and heard pretty quickly that it had been Tony's custom order so I sent it back his way, I just wouldn't have felt right keeping it under those circumstances. He later found a killer deal on one of his dream guitars and asked it I wanted to buy it back ... duh.

But basic black is pretty boring no matter how good the instrument is so I asked Dan if he'd shoot it for me in another color with a graphic. I was originally thinking white metal flake but after hearing that it looked more like cottage cheese than metal flake we settled on pearl white (which doesn't show at all in the pics but which is absolutely killer). The red bevels were Dan's idea as was the white w/red poodle case. I'm couldn't be happier with how the whole package turned out, it was a great instrument before but now it looks the part ... a bit more rock 'n roll if you will.

I am not an SG player, but I love what you did with yours. Would white EMGs be too over the top? Congrats on a pornolicious axe.

Too over the top? If the flake leopard wasn't too over the top I can't see how white EMGs would be. But I've been saving these Iommi pups for just the right SG for a while and I'm really not that big an EMG fan.
