  • Kramer owners please help!

    I just won this guitar

and I have no idea what it is. The seller claims the truss rod cover says Pacer Custom II but the body doesn't match that. I think this is a mutt, with a unknown neck and import body.

Go to www.vintagekramer.com and do some searching. I see a comment in the Pacer section: "In 1987, except for the Pacer Deluxe, the bodies were changed from the round-ish strat style to the Jackson-influenced "sharp-radiused" body which featured more cornered shaped edges, longer horns and thicker shoulders" and then "The Custom I was actually just called the Custom early on. It had the HSS configuration with the slanted hum, 1 vol, 3 on-off switches and a coil tap for the hum.The Custom II was basically the same guitar but the hum was straight, not angled and it sported 1 vol, 2 tones, 5 way select and coil tap."

So yours would be a Custom I.

Scroll down to the Baretta/Pacer body section in the link below and look at the blue 1988-89 body, seems to match the shape, lower horn contour, recessed trem as yours.

Yeah i looked at that website carefully before I bidded. The buyer claims its a Pacer II not I and either the control layout is wrong or a hole was added. The upper cutaway is slightly off from the baretta. Either way I still think I got a great deal.

It's obviously a mutt. The Ibanez trem and the lack of a neck plate all point to that.

The body could be a pacer, but it is hard to tell without a clear view of the input jack. The Neck looks to be Import from the focus series.

        Looks just like this one
        Damn, I love this Interweb.

The seller told me there was an oval input which points to a import. There looks to be an extra hole under the volume. Did focus' come in flip flop pink?

According to vintagekramer, the II has a straight hum and a 5-way, so don't know how the seller could be claiming a II vs a I.

^ Well I the neck and body probably aren't from the same guitar.

I have seen focus series kramers with Flip Flop colors. I almost bought an F1000 in flip flop champagne.
