  • Variax Done finally

Some of you may remember I bought the protype body off of Warmoth when it came out for their retrofit for the Variax 500. I had mocked the guitar up without paint to see how it would go and it played so well I never took it apart to have it done

Well I sent Sully the guitar and he worked his paint magic on it and it arrived yesterday. So while I was here at work I rebuilt it and I figured I'd share pictures of the finished product .. Behold the Mayniax

Sorry about the quality they were taken with my camera phone

    Sweet!

I gotta get something like that done. I loved the concept of the Vaiax, but didn't care for the guitar itself. Add an Ibenhad Double Edge Pro (piezo saddles AND double-locking) to a modded/Variax-ready Jackson body with magnetic pickups, a Roland GK-3 driver, and an XTLive and you've got the do-all guitar setup.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Awesome!!!...that turned out great. I bought a variax 300 with the intention of doing the warmoth thing.
How do you switch between the pup and piezo? Any other details would be appreciated as well.

      Once again nice job!

How do you switch between the pup and piezo?

It isn't hooked up yet but it is ust a matter of adding a mini toggle

I don't know man.. is it plywood? W/o strings it looks like one of those plastic cheapos you get in target where you press the keys. j/k!! Its the phone!

..... Don't mind me, I'm in a bit of a weird mood today.. sleep deprivation.......................

Looks good, hardtail! I like the logo.

Sully does nice paint work. Is that mahogany?

                  Fuckin' awesome!

I did a 300. It is an alder body but I put a scalloped reverse hs warmoth neck on it with a wolfgang backshape and ss frets.

Mine isnt painted either but I am going to take it apart and shoot it.

My brother is working on a way to get his sustainiac in a variax.

                  Great Job!

                  The logo rox!

That's sweet. Love the color! And the Dimebucker is an interesting choice there.

That really came together quickly, it seems like just 2 years ago you were starting this and voila it is done
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

totally killer, including the paint and the funny name.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
