Just save yourself some frustration and go straight to the manager. Unless you know that a particular salesman has his shit together that is.

Otherwise take it straight to the manager and be emphatic, but don't lose your temper either. Don't give him a reason to blow you off, just insist and keep insisting that it's nothing you did to the guitar. If the store manager won't work with you, ask to speak to the district manager.

If they quote "company policy", don't accept that. Policy is merely a guideline, they can do anything they want. Emphasize your value to GC as a previous and future customer. Don't say you won't be back to their store until all avenues have been exhausted. If you tell them to fuck off early on, they have nothing to lose by telling you the same.

Shitty quality control? Ibanez? I've never had a reason to put those 2 things together...

I don't know if this is the problem but Ibanez did suffer when they changed trems but didn't bring along the lock down studs for the trem posts. You can have it done after market but Ibanez should be doing this at the factory...

That being said, they are pretty good about warrenty issues. So I would take it back and have it fixed. Chances are if it's a goner, they will just replace your guitar. I've seen it done before...

i've tried ibanez edge iii trems and they are shit. you can't tighten the tremolo arm without taking the backplate off. supposing i actually bothered to buy an ibanez, can edge iii trems be swapped out for a proper floyd rose?
          Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

I know you already said you would send it back for repairs. You really have to give them a chance to come clean before you bash them.

And I've never owned an Ibeenhad and never will, you fool:ROTF:

Well said. Every company makes mistakes. It's frustrating and I understand getting mad, but give them a chance to make it right. If they don't come through, then absolutely let 'em have it with both barrels.

All the Ibanez I have owned were like Duracell batteries. They take a licking and keep on ticking.

Humm... Well, I'm assuming it's made in China or Indonesia. Don't hang the rep of all Ibanez's on a cheap import. I've found the MIJ Ibanez's to be quite good...

And the Edge III trems are pretty crappy. Not as bad as the old TRS trem but pretty bad...

I disagree. I have an Indonesian RG, with the Edge III, and it stays in tune, perfectly. Only issues I ever had was during the first 5 months or so, the bar loosened a tad, so I tightened it a small bit, and I was back in the game. I do lots of reverse dives and whatnot, and it stays with me. Bengal, what kind of expereinces have you had with the Edge III? Genuinely curious.
                              I'm not Ron!

I'm just going on what I've read over at Jemsite. I've never owned one. They look good but from what I've read they are made with soft metal and the knife edges get dull quickly and it has a tendency to not return to pitch. But that's just what I've read. I was miffed when they got rid of the Edge trem. I love that bridge so all my Ibanez's have that bridge...
