Now, this isn't one of those "Which is better?" threads. Because we all know that the Jackson is. I just want to know which guitar gets more bang for the buck, because I know some of you have the Xiphos, and I know some have the RR24. I have a chance to get either one this summer. But also, I have to save up for a car. I will have about $1500 by the end of the summer and need both a car and a new guit-fiddle. Any insight?

I think you're asking the wrong question - sounds more like a commentary on "needs vs. wants". It sounds like you've made up your mind, but now you just need to figure out what's most important to you. Personally, I need a car more than an expensive guitar, but that could just be me...
You are comparing two guitars that don't fall anywhere near each other in price range. If you were comparing two guitars that weren't $500+ dollars apart in price, I think you'd be getting a few more opinions.
And I still don't know where you came up with Charvel 4A...

I don't have the RR24 but I do have a Custom Shop XTRR and a Xiphos.
If its just a case of "Bang for the buck" Xiphos, hands down. That doesn't make it better, just such a great price for a Mahogany body/maple walnut neck thru, DiMarzio (Great new pup...cuz it sounds like a Duncan lol) and a molded case for under 1000 even up here in Canada.
I love my XTRR and every other guitar I have including my 76' Gibson V takes a back set as far as playability goes to her but...This Xiphos is shaking things up. It is so damn nice to play.
Personally...I don't think the hardware (Although it is better than most mid line guitars) or even the paint (It seems like a very thin coat) will hold up anywhere near how my XTRR does (The thing just won't wear) but the overall construction of the guitar will. That’s what I care about. Parts can easily be replaced.

Yeah. I planned on dropping on OFR in it if I get tired of the Edge III. I have an RG with the Edge III in it and it hasn't done too bad, but OFR's are just so much better. My Main Rig:

There actually was one old pricelist that had a "Model 4A" listed. IIRC, there was a scan on Jacksonmuseum before RW took it down. I haven't seen that pricelist anywhere else, and unfortunately I didn't save the scan. The 4A name ended up being unnecessary, because they all ended up with sharkies (except for the 4M of course), but maybe they thought about having some with dots & the JT-6 for some short period. There were a few quirks like that.
-edit- here it is at Henrik's site:
