  • Help me spend $2170

OK, here's the deal. I had some guitars stolen and thru the miracle of replacement value insurance, I have to spend $2170 on a guitar. The insurance company gave me $542 for the guitar that was stolen but allocated $1999 plus tax or $2170 to buy a replacement. They gave me $542 up front and will pay up to another $1628 if I go buy a replacement. As you can see, it would be stupid of me not to go spend the whole thing.

Brands: Jackson, Charvel, Dean, Ibanez or Gibson.

    Requirements:

    1. New or Used doesn't matter.

    2. I don't want to throw money away on a guitar that is worth $700 the day it gets sold....... ie. any new Charvel.

    3. The guitar must hold it's value or appreciate, be a good investment.

    4. No twangy Fender or single-coil crap, this guitar must rock, play metal, preferrably have a Floyd but not required.

OK guys, let's here it. What should I buy ? Right now I got my eyes on a USA Dean-From-Hell but I dunno.

What, you want a copy of my insurance paperwork to prove it? Not a problem.

Buy something used on Fleabay or whatever. Almost any new guitar loses a big bunch of value the minute you take it home.

Who said it was a problem and who's looking for sympathy? Jesus Christ, was just looking for some advice. Thanks for the help(or lack thereof).

Nah, I don't need a $4000 guitar that's worth $2000 the day after buying it and $1000 a year later.

Ouch, I was worrying about that one. Been with the company for 15 years and never had a claim. Do you think they're going to kill me next year?

                            +1

Or you could pickup a nice PRS from a music shop, but haggle the hell out of them. PRS's hold good value I presume. I wouldn't recommend gibsons to anyone, but that's another option.

It's called a joke. Look it up in the dictionary. And then seek some help getting that stick removed from your ass.

(DISCLAIMER - THAT WAS ALSO A JOKE)
