  • Musikraft neck has landed!

I took the plunge and ordered a Musikraft neck, and I'm glad I did! I was a little worried about buying from Musikraft, since I never had before and have had great experiences with Warmoth, but I finally decided to go for it. I would gladly buy another Musikraft now.

I just received the neck about a week ago. I have now applied a satin finish and a Strat logo, and installed a nut and mounted the neck on my Strat.

    Here's a pic:

    SPECS
I ordered a Quartersawn Maple neck with Flame Maple fretboard in the Thin D shape (.75" at the 1st fret) with compound radius fretboard, heavily rolled fretboard edges, and Abalone front and side markers.

I also ordered it prepped for an LSR roller nut and asked for the skunk stripe, but they neglected to do those things. Not a major deal, though I did already have the roller nut purchased and ready to go. I bought a GraphTech trem nut instead, which is nice.

I have it installed on my 50th Ann. Deluxe Ash Strat, which is in Tobacco Sunburst. I really think I may have created my ultimate Strat here, as I love the S1 electronics, contoured heel and Tobacco Sunburst of the 50th Am Dlx, and I also love this neck, both to look at and to play. Overall, I'm quite happy with the result.

The tuners that are on it now are temporary (Gotohs from an Ibanez RG I formerly owned). I was planning to transplant the locking Schallers from my Strat Deluxe's neck, but I don't know how to properly drill the locating pegs, so I think I'll get some of those vintage-looking locking Gotohs if they fit the same tuner hole size.

They do excellent work with high quality woods. They do however perform an error such as you have experienced once in awhile. They will setup you up right and pretty fast. I've bought many necks and bodies from them. I still have the prototype Jake E. Lee body I had them make.

Wow, that's a lot of flame on that fretboard. Looks awesome. Fender's tobacco sunburst is one of my favourite finishes.

How did they turn out those rolled edges for you?.
I love the feel of a totally broken in neck. Those are some kick ass specs.

Thanks! I really like the heavily rolled edges. The neck feels fantastic. I forgot to mention I got it with 6105 frets, which I also really like.

How close to a Charvel profile is the D Shape of the neck?

                Thanks!
