  • Esp Mx-ii

I've got some money coming my way probably and I've always wanted one of these, ever since seeing the One video.

Could anyone shed some light on this guitar?

They were previously called MX-250 II (M = Metallica, X= Explorer, 250 = 250000 yen, II = 2 humbuckers). But their current price is 400000 yen, so it's now called MX-II. What I am confused about: is there a difference in bodyshape between older and newer MX models? The newer ones seem to have a sharper body (specifically the lower horn). Jackson Museum used to have an awesome one with the original middle finger inlays.

Anyone know the radius and nut width? These jap sites are driving me crazy...

Thanks man, reading that thread right now.

Does anyone know where that EET FUK model from jacksonmuseum went? I remembered emailing him and he said he sold it to a fellow European.

The newer one with sharper shape is in fact called EX model. You can still get MX by placing order to custom shop. It is not production model anymore and is limited for sale in Japan

Did only the USA ESP EX(= bolt on) get sharper shape? (Not the current LTD Ex). I'm fairly certain that the MX changed to a sharper lower horn and a bigger upper somewhere around '90. Which is why I was asking.

there is no USA ESP, first off. if you mean japan ESP then, either way they don't have an ESP EX series. and no it looks the same, if it was different, then they would have not gotten sued.

I meant the USA model ESP EX. Which is like an MX, only bolt on and rosewood board in all cases and I do believe they already featured the sharper bodystyle, like MX's did from the early 90's onwards.

              I'll find out.

GOR, ESP and LTD currently do not make normal explorers, Edwards does. They all used to make normal explorers but I do not know when they quit. The current ones are EX, the MX seems to be the old designation. The old ones went through several changes too.
Now to confuse you more you can get normal production explorers through ESP, I have seen them in shops, you're looking around $22-$2500 USD

Exactly the info I was looking for! Thanks

That double neck is sweet, though I have a hunch the price is going to be astronomical.
