I have a SLSMG and the sl2ht is lighter than the slsmg. Its even lighter than my DK2T.
To the threadstarter...I think the Joe satriani's signature model is made of Basswood.

Jay turser strat- It's gotta be made from balsa wood.

Maybe even balsa plywood. I have a Jay Turser strat body laying around and it's gotta be 1-2 lbs.

+whatever on the Parker Fly. I played one in '94 on a visit to NYC. The weight (or lack thereof) was very seductive. Wasn't so keen on how it sounded, or the choices of woods and electronics, though. The tang-less frets were a bit disconcerting also.
